  1. All pilots must be a current member of the Academy of model Aeronautics (AMA). They must have their AMA card and their current Southern Alameda County Radio controllers (SACRC) badge with them and display their (SACRC) badge while at the flying field.
  2. Guests qualified to fly must be current AMA members, be accompanied by a SACRC member, and may use the field for a maximum of three visits. Thereafter, pilots who intend to continue to use the field must apply for SACRC membership.
  3. New members shall not fly solo until certified by a SACRC board member. Pilot certification requires the new pilot to have his model checked for flight readiness and to make 3 consecutive take offs and landings to a full stop.
  4. Members with a known disability or medical condition that may cause them to become incapacitated and lose control of their model must have a co-pilot standing with them to provide assistance.


  1. Electric powered aircraft may fly from 7.00AM until after dusk.
  2. Gas/glow powered aircraft may fly from 9:00AM until dusk.


  1. There shall be no more than four (4) pilots flying at one time.
  2. All pilots must fly from one of the designated “flight box” areas.
  3. All take-offs and hand launches will originate from the runway.
  4. The initial turn after take-off will be in a direction away from the pit, spectators, and parking areas.
  5. No maneuvers or landing approaches will be made over the pit, spectators, or parking area.
  6. There shall be no flying over areas designated as “NO FLY ”by the club.
  7. All maneuvers, aerobatics and low flying are to performed away from the runway.
  8. Taxiing in or out of the Hot Pit is not permitted. Aircraft must be placed on the runway for takeoff and picked up off the runway and returned to the Hot Pit area after landing and taxiing back.
  9. Any model or equipment, which is obviously unsafe, will not be flown or operated.
  10. Every model must identified by the owner’s name, AMA number and FAA ID number on or in the aircraft.
  11. Starting/arming shall be done in the Hot Pit area only. Disarming can be done in the Hot Pit, runway or the disarming table at the north end of the pit area.
  12. If there is more than one pilot flying, (up to 4 total) all pilots must communicate with each other and announce loudly their intentions on the runway. I.e.: Takeoffs, Landings, Touch-and-goes, Taxiing etc.
  13. If any person at the field needs to cross the runway while any pilot is flying, they need to check with the flying pilot(s) if it is OK and safe to do so and then announce loudly that they are crossing the field, both coming and going.
  14. If flying with FPV goggles, the pilot must have an observer with him.


  1. Only electric helicopters are allowed to fly.
  2. No collective pitch models over 600 size.
  3. All helicopters must be inspected and labeled by a club-authorized member prior to flight.
  4. Helicopters will only be flown off the main runway after receiving clearance from all fixed wing pilots that are in the air.
  5. Multirotors may be flown from the far north end of the pit
  6. Helicopters and multirotors will only be flown in an area from the north end of the runway to the power lines to the east unless the fixed wing pilots grant special permission for flight in the fixed wing area.
  7. Arming and disarming of helicopters and multirotors is to be done on the fixed wing disarming table at the north end of the field.
  8. All pilots flying aircraft must be made aware of the helicopters/multirotors activities.


  1. All aircraft must meet a sound limit as per AMA guidelines.
  2. Fixed wing aircraft will have a maximum wingspan of 110 inches.
  3. Because of the field’s layout and location, no turbine-powered aircraft are allowed.
  4. All 27 and 72 MHz transmitters must be equipped with the appropriate number frequency tag.
  5. Since there are very few 27 and 72 MHz radios still being used, It is up to the pilots flying these radios to check if there are any others at the field and coordinate the frequencies between themselves.
  6. Equipment repairs are not to be made on the runway. All repairs are to be made in the pit area.


  1. Keep the access road gates latched/locked at all times. Close and lock/latch the gates when you enter or leave.
  2. The maximum speed limit on the dirt access roads is 10MPH.


  1. Trash is everyone’s responsibility. Any thing you bring to the field take home with you. We do not have a trash collecting service.
  2. Spectators and children and pets shall remain off the runway and outside the hot pit compound and flight box areas unless personally supervised by a member.
  3. Members are responsible for the safety and actions of their children, guests and pets. No smoking or alcohol is allowed on the field or pits. Smoking is allowed in an area on the east edge of the parking lot. Take your butts with you.


  1. In addition to the club’s operating rules, all members must adhere to the Current ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS NATIONAL MODEL AIRCRAFT SAFETY CODE effective January 1, 2018.
  2. The board reserves the right to modify/wave current safety rules for special occasions.


Penalties may be assessed on any member flagrantly violating these rules if the violation is observed by at least two other club members and reported to a club officer.

  1. For the first violation: The offending member shall be made aware of the violation, cited, and the violation reported to a club officer.
  2. For the second violation: The member will be cited, reported, and a fine of $50 Levied.
  3. For a third violation: The member may be expelled from the club by the board after a review.
